Bud Lee is a prime example of how teaching your kids about money and finances at an early age will help them throughout their lives. Bud has been a Bronco member “ever since I can remember,” because his mom and dad go him started on a savings account when he was just a tot. And he’s been a valued customer ever since.
But he emphasizes that he’s not just a member because his parents say he should be. As a young adult with a good head on his shoulders, Bud now uses Bronco for both savings and checking. When the time comes, he already knows he’ll be calling on our real estate team to help him finance his first home. “Being a Bronco member is like being part of a family,” says Bud. “They care about you so much.”
Currently a sophomore at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, Bud enjoys sports (“I like them all,” he says) when he’s not concentrating on his studies. But like most college students, he knows that concentrating on school word always comes first. He’s currently majoring in Mass Communications with a minor in Recreation.
“I want to be a film producer,” says Bud, when asked what he’d like to do with his degree. “I just really want to do something with film.” His interest in being a film producer comes from his brother, “He’s doing the same thing—well, that’s what he’s trying to do,” says Bud. “He’s working on his Master’s degree for that right now.”
Bud hasn’t decided yet whether he wants to be an independent film producer or work for a big studio, but he knows Bronco will be there to back him up if he decides to start his own company. At 19, he’s still got some time to work through the details.
An outgoing person who “loves to have fun,” Bud will undoubtedly be a success at whatever career path he chooses. So don’t be surprised in the not-so-distant future if you’re at the movies and you see his name on the big screen. And you’ll be able to impress your friends when you tell them, “Yeah, I know that guy. We’re both Bronco members!”
