Relay for Life is an emotionally charged series of events that support the American Cancer Society. Over 3.5 million participants worldwide celebrate the lives of those who have successfully battled cancer, remember loved ones lost to the disease and fight back to help find a cure by raising millions of dollars for research each year.
Our very own BFCU Greenbacks have been hard at work organizing fundraising events to reach their 2011 goal of $5,000. As of press time for this issue of Hometown, we are thrilled to report that they have nearly doubled their original goal, thanks in part to an extremely successful Bingo Night held on March 15. In fact, this evening of fun and games was so successful they are planning an encore for sometime in May.
